Tim Tague's Philosophy...
"Anyone can acquire the skills to play enjoyable golf."
The swing is not an issue of 'eye-hand' coordination. There
is no one method that works for all golfers. Athletic ability
alone will not make a golfer.
I am not a correctional nor method teacher. I believe in
basics and fundamentals. These basics are present in all
effective golf swings and can be learned by anyone with
realistic goals and proper ATTITUDE.
The golf swing and teaching skills have made a paradigm
shift. No longer is it an effort to hit the ball with the
hands. It is now a matter of body rotation as the primary
source of energy. The modern golf swing optimizes both power
and accuracy. Now any golfer at any age can learn or upgrade
their swing and enjoy golf for a lifetime. Golf is fun. It's
just more fun when you're better.
I am a committed teacher. I do not work with a student that
I am not committed to. I make an unconditional commitment
to a student only when they make the same commitment to our
mutual program. I ask three things of a student:
1. Realistic goals and expectations
2. Accept the practice philosophy of "quality vs. quantity"
3. Have the proper ATTITUDE (determination and patience)
'Off Season' Efforts
The 'off season' is the ideal time to make serious swing
changes as well as maintaining existing skills. Indoor lessons
and practicing with and without the ball can truly expedite
the development of positive, long term habits. An emphasis
on swings and drills without the ball can have a dramatic
impact on swing improvement. This success can become permanent
much faster leading to playing golf by feel, eliminating
swing thoughts on the course. The conscious mind produces
and the subconscious reproduces through feel. Learn the mechanics
necessary in your swing to improve. Repetition of your 'new
swing' will lead to feel turning mechanical acquisitions
into a fluid subconscious motion directed to your target.
Swinging is a skill, playing is an art. Develop your best
swing in the 'off season' to enable playing target golf during
the season. |
